Fullstack Job Details

Do you want to be part of a revolutionary new company developing products based on a patented technology that can reduce society’s reliance on fossil fuels by creating a new kind of clean fuel?

If yes, you may be the perfect candidate to join us at AlumaPower, a well funded cleantech start-up based in Southern Ontario, Canada.

AlumaPower’s breakthrough technology re-invents the aluminum-air battery as a ‘galvanic engine’ – an innovative long-life energy source that runs on recycled aluminum as a fuel. It produces only water vapour and heat as emitted by-products, while providing at least 4 times the energy density of lithium-ion batteries.

You will be an exceptional Applications Engineer and will be involved in designing Real Time IIoT and IOT Systems, System Security, Cloud Connectivity, Embedded Systems Design, and related hardware and major software components.

You will help cultivate innovation by driving cross-collaboration and the execution of projects across multiple business units – this will involve you mentoring and working closely with other members of the AlumaPower team, specifically with mechanical, electrical, chemical, fabrication, testing, and software engineers.

You may also be required to assist in finding suppliers and, at times, procuring components for the project, fabricating parts, and potentially, assisting in the development of grant/research funding proposals.

Above all, you must be the type of person who wishes to thrive and succeed in an entrepreneurial environment and have a hunger to grow personally within the company.

If this sounds like you, then you’ll have the following attributes, experience, and skills: -

  • Significant knowledge and experience in C, C++, Go, Rust, Java, Groovy, C#, Python, JavaScript, FullStack Development, MongoDB, SQLServer, The Microsoft Suite of technologies, Linux, GCP, AWS, Azure, TCP/IP, Routing and RTOS Frameworks
  • Demonstrated expertise working with one or more of the following: Infrastructure, Machine Learning, Mobile Application Development, Embedded Systems, Front End Development, Security and Privacy
  • Experience with architecting and developing distributed control systems designs.
  • Autodesk suite experience is highly desired – Inventor/Fusion 360/Eagle, Autocad/VaultPro
  • Schematic Capture and Board Layout capabilities and knowledge.
  • Experience of working within extended internal and external teams
  • Ability to think strategically, innovatively, and creatively, using sound business judgment and quantitative skills
  • Strengths in problem solving, issue-resolution, ability to work in a deadline-driven work environment, attention to detail, and ability to multitask
  • A passion for customer experience combined with business curiosity and a strategic viewpoint
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills (English) with the ability to present complex information in a clear and concise manner, with demonstrated experience engaging and influencing senior executives
  • A passion for lifelong learning
